About the tour
Within this tour you will visit two bases located on the Orinoco River. The duration of the tour ranges from 6 to 8 days, depending on your preference.
The concept of the tour is as follows: arrival at the main camp and two days of fishing on the rapids, where the primary target species is payara.
This is followed by a transfer upstream to a tented camp and four days of fishing for peacock bass.

Tour itinerary by day
Day 1 – Arrival & Transfer to Base
Arrival in Bogotá, airport meet & greet, and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay.
Early next morning: transfer to the local airport and flight to Puerto Carreño. From there, a ~3-hour jeep transfer across the savanna to the base. Check-in, lunch, and an afternoon catfish fishing session.
Days 2–3 – Main Camp Fishing
Two full days of fishing based at the main lodge.
Days 4–6 – Upstream Expedition Camp
On Day 4, early morning boat transfer (~2 hours upstream) to a remote tented camp.
Four days of fishing in a wild, less pressured section of the river.
Day 7 – Return & Departure
Boat transfer back to the main camp, jeep transfer to Puerto Carreño, flight to Bogotá, and onward international departure.

Accommodation
The main lodge consists of several comfortable bungalows, each equipped with a private bathroom (shower & toilet), air conditioning, and all essential amenities.
On-site facilities include a bar, restaurant, and a dedicated relaxation area.
The upstream expedition camp features military-style tents, each equipped with its own private shower and toilet, offering a balance between adventure and comfort.
Reliable internet is available at the main base, along with laundry services.
Boats
Boats are equipped with 30–40 HP engines and feature dedicated casting platforms for efficient fishing.
All boats are operated by experienced local guides, ensuring safety and maximizing fishing results.

Tour itinerary by day
Day 1
Arrival in Manaus, meeting and accommodation at the hotel. Morning flight to the base, check-in, and the first fishing trip on the day of arrival.
Days 2–6
Six full days of fishing. Departure at 6:00 AM, afternoon break for lunch and rest, then evening session. Two people per boat with a guide.
Day 7
Morning departure from the base, return to Manaus, and international flight.

Boats
The boats are equipped with 30-horsepower motors and are serviced by experienced guides. The format is two anglers per boat.
Accommodation
The floating caravan consists of four cabins, each accommodating two people.
Each cabin has a shower, toilet, and air conditioning. A separate cabin is equipped as a dining room.
The base has stable internet access and laundry facilities.
Main trophy: Payara & Pecock Bass

Payara is one of the most unusual and intimidating freshwater predators in South America. Because of its long dagger-like fangs, it is often called the “vampire fish.” These teeth can reach 10–15 cm in length and are used to pierce prey during the attack.
Payara inhabits powerful tropical rivers and rapids within the Orinoco and Amazon basins. Strikes from this predator are sudden and aggressive, often followed by powerful runs and spectacular jumps.
Large specimens can reach weights of up to 10 kg and are considered one of the most unique and desirable freshwater trophies in South America.
The tour includes fishing on the rapids, where Payara feels most at home, as well as fishing in an upper tented camp. An additional part of the program is targeting another iconic predator of the region — Peacock Bass.
